The Health Facility Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA) has called on residents of Amuwo-Odofin to help curb quackery and unprofessional health practices in Lagos State.

Epe Insights reports that during a town hall meeting, HEFAMAA stressed that the government alone cannot monitor all health facilities effectively. Residents were encouraged to report illegal clinics, maternity homes, and diagnostic centres to ensure only certified professionals provide healthcare services.

The Permanent Secretary, Dr Abiola Idowu, highlighted plans to decentralise HEFAMAA operations, while Chief Nutrition Officer, Mr Richard Olusanya, explained the agency’s regulatory role, including routine inspections and certification verification. He warned that unqualified operators running multiple medical facilities endanger lives and called on facility owners to display registration certificates to build public trust.
