The Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has issued a security alert, calling on residents to remain vigilant and actively cooperate with security agencies to protect lives and property across communities within the council area.
Epe Insights reports that the advisory urges residents not to harbour unknown persons, to be cautious of unusual movements, and to promptly report any suspicious activities to relevant authorities or community leaders.
Speaking on the development, the Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding residents and maintaining peace throughout the council area.
Akinloye stressed that security is a shared responsibility, noting that government efforts can only succeed with the active participation of residents at the grassroots level.
He called on traditional rulers, youth groups, landlords, and community associations to intensify sensitisation efforts and strengthen neighbourhood vigilance to prevent criminal elements from taking advantage of communities.
The council chairman emphasized that early reporting and community cooperation remain critical tools in curbing crime, banditry, and other security threats within the LCDA.
He further assured residents that the local government is working closely with security agencies to enhance intelligence gathering, rapid response, and sustained surveillance across Eredo and its environs.
According to him, the council’s collaboration with law enforcement agencies is part of a broader strategy to maintain peace, protect economic activities, and ensure a safe environment for residents and businesses.
Residents were encouraged to remain calm but alert, and to continue supporting government-led initiatives aimed at strengthening security and social stability across the local government area.
The Eredo LCDA reiterated its resolve to sustain proactive security measures in line with its commitment to the safety, welfare, and well-being of all residents.
