Epe Insights reports that the annual tournament, themed “Uniting Hearts. Inspiring Dreams. Building Champions Through Football,” remains one of the most anticipated grassroots competitions in the LCDA.

The event aims to foster unity, develop young talents, and keep youths positively engaged in sports. The defending champions, Odo-Egiri FC, are set to face Igbonla FC in the opening match on Monday, December 8, 2025, at St. Patrick Grammar School, Eredo.

During a press briefing, the Football Committee urged all team coaches and players to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations to ensure a safe and peaceful tournament. Coaches were warned against promoting unsportsmanlike behaviour or actions that could escalate into violence on the field.

The EDFA Chairman, Mr Adekoya, encouraged players to prioritise sportsmanship over rivalry, reminding them that “in every competition, there is always just one winner, so players should play their part and let God decide the winner instead of causing unnecessary injuries.”
