The Epe Police Divisional Headquarters, Oke Oyinbo, hosted its maiden Annual Christmas Carol and Praise Night, bringing police officers and civilians together in worship and unity.
Epe Insights reports that the event, held within the premises of the Epe Police Station, attracted worshippers from various Christian denominations who gathered to celebrate Christmas through songs of praise, prayers, and thanksgiving.
The programme marked a rare convergence of faith, security, and community engagement in the historic town.
In his welcome address, the Divisional Police Officer of Epe Division, CSP Ayeni Benjamin, gave thanks to God for the sustained peace and security the area has enjoyed since he assumed duty.

He attributed the calm atmosphere in Epe to divine grace and deliberate policing strategies.
CSP Benjamin also commended the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olorundare Moshood Jimoh, for his leadership style and commitment to crime prevention. He noted that the Commissioner’s innovative security initiatives have strengthened policing across Lagos State.
Reflecting on the transformation of Epe, the DPO stated that the town was once perceived as a hub for cultism and criminal activities. According to him, that narrative has changed significantly, with no record of cult clashes, kidnapping, or banditry during his tenure.
He disclosed that the division recently benefited from a newly commissioned edifice equipped with modern facilities, alongside the deployment of a special tactical team approved by the Commissioner of Police.
He explained that the presence of the tactical team has improved response time and enhanced operational effectiveness.

Advising residents ahead of the festive season, CSP Benjamin encouraged moderation in celebration and heightened security awareness. He called on residents to avoid late-night movements and promptly report suspicious activities to the police.
