As he marks another year of life and public service, Engineer Abiola Olowu, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Energy and Mineral Resources, is being honoured for his contributions to sustainable development, energy reform and environmental protection across Lagos State.

Olowu has supervised the implementation of electrification projects in areas like Alimosho, overseeing infrastructure upgrades such as substation enhancements, transformer installations, and line replacements aimed at delivering more reliable power to underserved neighbourhoods.
His dedication to supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises is also evident in his collaboration with relevant agencies to pilot captive and renewable energy solutions for business clusters, helping reduce operational costs for traders and entrepreneurs.
Known for his direct and transparent approach, Engr. Olowu is often seen engaging with stakeholders, issuing compliance directives where needed, and championing initiatives that align with the state’s broader sustainability goals.
