The Board of Trustees (BOT) and Elders of the Epe Ogunmodede Club have publicly dissociated themselves from a controversial statement allegedly issued by the Club’s General Secretary, Mr. Bayo Saliu-Okulu.

EpeInsights reports that the statement claimed the Club was not aligned with the ongoing selection process of a new monarch in the Eko Epe community.

In an official release signed by Alhaji (Chief) Alade Saliu-Okulu on behalf of the BOT, the leadership denounced the statement as unauthorized, misleading, and unrepresentative of the Club’s official stance or general membership.

“Neither the BOT, the Elders, nor the general body of members was consulted or gave approval for such a divisive and misleading declaration,” the statement read.

The BOT emphasized the Club’s long-standing commitment to cultural harmony, traditional leadership, and community values, noting that such sensitive matters should not be addressed without proper consultation.

As a registered organization under the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), the Club reiterated that it operates on principles of collective decision-making and alignment with communal interests.

“We stand with our community and support justice, fairness, and equity in the monarch selection process,” said Chief Alade Saliu-Okulu.

The BOT reaffirmed its dedication to preserving peace and unity in Eko Epe, calling on all members to uphold the Club’s values and respect traditional institutions.
