Epe Local Government has intensified efforts to protect public health as the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, officially flagged off the Outbreak Response Initiative (ORI) during a stakeholders’ meeting at the Council Secretariat.
Epe Insights reports that the event brought together community leaders, religious leaders, security officials, and members of the immunisation team to strengthen vaccination coverage across all wards in Epe.
In her address, Princess Animashaun reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to safeguarding the health and welfare of residents.
She provided logistics support, transportation stipends, and welfare packages to all immunisation teams to enhance their mobility and field operations.
The Chairman urged parents, guardians, and caregivers to ensure their children receive all necessary vaccines, stressing that immunisation remains one of the most effective ways to prevent disease outbreaks.
The Medical Officer of Health (MOH), Dr Adeleke Awolesi, assured stakeholders that the health department is fully prepared for the exercise.
He pledged that the immunisation teams would reach every household and community, emphasising that protecting children requires a unified approach.
Stakeholders at the meeting commended the Chairman’s proactive leadership and pledged stronger advocacy across their respective communities.
