The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun, has joined millions of Nigerians in commemorating Democracy Day 2025, with a call for unity, national pride and continued commitment to democratic values.
EpeInsights reports that in a statement issued on June 12, Princess Animashaun described the day as a reminder of Nigeria’s hard-fought journey to democratic governance, and a tribute to those who paid the ultimate price for the nation’s freedom and rights.
“We honour the brave men and women whose resilience and sacrifices made democracy a reality. Their legacy lives on in every Nigerian who upholds justice, unity, and the vision of a better Nigeria,” she said.
She emphasized that democracy goes beyond elections, highlighting the importance of citizen participation, accountability, and inclusion.
To the people of Epe and Nigerians at large, the Chairman extended a message of encouragement and hope: “Let this day reawaken our faith in democracy and reignite a deeper sense of purpose. Our diversity is our strength and our future depends on the choices we make today.”
Princess Animashaun reaffirmed her administration’s dedication to inclusive governance and called on citizens to protect democratic values and work together to build a nation where every voice counts.
