Elderly beneficiaries across the 19 wards of Epe Federal Constituency have received their January 2026 stipends under the Elders Welfare Scheme, Itoju Awon Agba.

Epe Insights reports that the disbursement was carried out by the Member representing Epe Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Rep. Wale Raji (MHR), with beneficiaries receiving ₦10,000 each.

The exercise recorded scenes of joy as selected senior citizens described the support as timely relief amid current economic challenges.

Beneficiaries praised the scheme’s consistency and transparency, noting that it has remained uninterrupted since its introduction in 2020.

Many recipients said the monthly stipend has helped them meet basic needs while maintaining dignity in old age.

One beneficiary described the initiative as a lifeline, especially during difficult economic periods.

Another recipient said the support serves as reassurance that elders are remembered and appreciated for their years of service to the community.

Records show that over ₦90 million has been invested in the welfare of elderly residents across the constituency since the scheme began.

The initiative has continued to reach hundreds of elders, making it one of the longest-running social welfare programmes in the area.

Rep. Raji reaffirmed his commitment to prioritising the welfare of senior citizens within the constituency.

He described the programme as a reflection of his belief in inclusive and people-centred governance.

According to the lawmaker, caring for elders remains a moral responsibility and a key aspect of community development.

He assured beneficiaries that the Itoju Awon Agba scheme would be sustained as long as he remains in public service.

The programme continues to strengthen social support for elders across Epe Federal Constituency.
