As part of a strategic move to enhance creativity, drive innovation and transform public service delivery, the Lagos State Education District II has officially inaugurated its Transformation, Creativity and Innovation Committee.
EpeInsights that the inauguration ceremony, held at the District Headquarters in Maryland, was presided over by the Supervising Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS), Mr. Olusegun Osinaike, who described the development as a bold step towards aligning the education sector with Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s transformative vision for the state.
Addressing the newly inaugurated committee members, Mr. Osinaike congratulated them on their appointment, describing it as both a privilege and a responsibility to serve the state at a critical time of reform.
“This is not a ceremonial committee—it is a working group with a mission,” Mr. Osinaike said. “We expect innovative thinking, collaborative action, and impactful results. You are not alone on this journey. The district is here to support and walk with you.”
He commended the Governor for instituting the Creativity, Transformation, and Innovation Framework, which he said is already yielding results across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in Lagos.
Recalling Governor Sanwo-Olu’s address to public service leaders on February 14, 2024, Mr. Osinaike noted that the directive emphasized the urgent need for government institutions to evolve by embracing innovation, increasing productivity, enhancing revenue generation, and improving service delivery to better meet the needs of a rapidly growing population.
The TG/PS also praised the Creativity and Innovation Ambassadors Initiative, describing it as a cornerstone of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s reform agenda that empowers agencies to generate ground-up ideas and scale effective solutions.
Mr. Osinaike specially recognised two officers from the District Headquarters, Mr. Ajejiomo Samuel and Mr. Ilesanmi Temitayo—for emerging as official ambassadors under the initiative, alongside other newly appointed committee members who passed through a rigorous screening process.
The event was attended by Directors and Heads of Departments from across the District, who expressed their commitment to supporting the committee’s mandate and driving the innovation agenda within their respective units.
The newly inaugurated Transformation, Creativity, and Innovation Committee is expected to play a vital role in identifying and implementing forward-thinking ideas to improve efficiency, service quality, and overall system performance within the education sector.
Mr. Osinaike concluded by urging the team to work with a sense of purpose and passion, reminding them that their contributions will help shape the future of public education in Lagos.
“This is your moment to shape something bigger than yourselves,” he said. “Let your work reflect the excellence that defines Lagos State and the aspirations of a greater Lagos rising.”
