The Epe Legislative Conference 4.0, held on Wednesday has been described as a remarkable gathering of young leaders committed to redefining legislative engagement and strengthening democratic values at the grassroots level.

EpeInsights learnt that the National President of the Federation of Epe Division Students’ Association (FEDSA), Comrade Adesanya Ibrahim, who was present at the conference, commended the organisers for hosting a thought-provoking event that combined dialogue, tradition and innovation.

The conference was organized by FEDSA LASU DRC under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Ogunbiyi Hafsoh, the first female Speaker of the parliament.

With the theme “Beyond The Gavel: Redefining Legislative Leadership,” the event explored the evolving role of student legislators in shaping impactful policies and leadership culture within their communities.

A major symbolic moment was the unveiling of the “Gown and Wig,” representing the authority and responsibility of the parliament.

Comrade Adesanya expressed admiration for the Speaker and her team, noting that their efforts exemplify visionary leadership and a commitment to excellence.

He described the event as inspiring and a clear example of how women in leadership continue to break barriers and drive positive change.

The event drew attendance from several key figures in youth and community development, including Hon. Ogungbo Temitope Sofwan, Supervisor for Education, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government; Mr. Kaka Babatunde, Senior Legislative Aide to Rep. Wale Raji; Barr. Aroweyun Adeleke, Legal Director, NYCN Lagos State Chapter; Hon. Odunare Mahruf, Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State Youth Parliament; Amb. Ogunbawo Ibraheem, NYCN State Treasurer; Rt. Hon. Bamgbopa Opeyemi and Hon. Talabi Adeola, both emeritus speakers; and many others.

In his remarks, Comr. Adesanya also extended his sincere appreciation for the award of honor presented to him during the event, describing it as a source of motivation and a call to greater service.

He concluded by emphasizing the importance of conferences like this in nurturing the next generation of public leaders and deepening the culture of responsible and inclusive governance in Epe Division and beyond.Comr.
