Barr. Olayinka Oladunjoye Mourns the Passing of Alhaji Ganiyu Adio Akintola

The National Population Commission (NPC) Commissioner representing Lagos State, Barrister Olayinka Oladunjoye, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Alhaji Ganiyu Adio Akintola, describing him as an exceptional leader, educator, and community builder whose legacy will continue to inspire generations.

EpeInsights reports that in a heartfelt condolence message issued on Saturday, October 25, 2025, Oladunjoye noted that while heaven gained a wonderful soul, the earth lost a truly great man. She described the late Akintola as a father figure, political leader, and mentor whose life was defined by impact, service, and compassion.

“The news of his passing came as a shock, the departure of a beloved father figure, political leader, educator, and community development champion. Yet, there is solace in knowing that the strife is over and he has gone to rest eternally,” she wrote.

Reflecting on his contributions, Oladunjoye praised Alhaji Akintola’s resilience, humility and dedication to the service of Epe, Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA and Lagos State at large.

She described him as a beacon of selflessness and a source of inspiration to many, particularly those privileged to have worked closely with him during his lifetime.

“His loss hits deeply. My heart is heavy, but my spirit rejoices in the testimony of a life well-lived, a life marked by impact, service, and love. As a teacher, permanent secretary, and politician, he touched countless lives and left indelible footprints in the sands of time. Indeed, his passing is a colossal loss to us all,” she added.

On behalf of her family, Barr. Oladunjoye extended her condolences to the deceased’s wife, children, and all loved ones, praying for divine comfort and strength to bear the irreplaceable loss.

She concluded by praying for the peaceful repose of his soul, saying:

“May the Almighty grant them the strength to bear this great loss and grant his noble soul eternal rest.”

Alhaji Ganiyu Adio Akintola was widely respected for his commitment to public service, education, and grassroots development. His demise has left a significant void within Epe Division and the larger Lagos community.
