The Lagos State Arewa Council of Chiefs has officially endorsed the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, for a second term in office, citing his outstanding performance and inclusive leadership style, particularly towards the Northern community in the area.

EpeInsights reports that at a well-attended meeting held in Ibeju-Lekki, the coalition of Northern traditional leaders praised Hon. Olowa for fostering peaceful coexistence and economic opportunities for Arewa residents under his administration.

Speaking during the endorsement, Hon. Olowa expressed deep gratitude to the council, acknowledging God’s grace and the peaceful relationship between his administration and the Northern community.

“The Arewa community is known for its unique cultural values and strong sense of unity,” he said.

“Our relationship has been cordial, and I look forward to deepening that bond as we continue to work together for Ibeju-Lekki’s prosperity.”

He called on the Arewa community to mobilize fully ahead of the upcoming local government elections, assuring them that their interests would remain protected under his leadership.

He also encouraged more commercial partnerships between the Northern residents and the local government to boost economic development.

The endorsement was led by prominent Northern leaders including Alhaji Haruna Kuraja, Sarkin Alimosho, and Alhaji Hassan Awiyo, Sarkin Idi-Araba. They lauded Hon. Olowa’s developmental efforts, citing improved peace and inclusion, and publicly raised his hand as a sign of unified support for his re-election bid.

Alhaji Musa Abubakar, Sarkin Hausawa and Secretary of the Arewa community in Ibeju-Lekki, alongside Alhaji Mustapha Ibrahim, expressed their appreciation for the Chairman’s open-door policy and consistent engagement.

SSA on Information in Alimosho Local Government, Mallam Ibrahim Jagaba, also pledged continued support from the Arewa community across Lagos State.

The event was witnessed by several dignitaries including the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Mojeed Olayinka; Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo; Special Adviser on Chieftaincy and Intra-Boundary Affairs, Hon. Aliasau Oladehinde; APC Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Eletu; and other political leaders such as Hon. Monsuru Oludaisi Kazeem, Hon. Raheem Kazeem, Hon. Odofin Jelili, and Hon. Idogun Surakat.

The endorsement signals growing political momentum for Hon. Olowa’s second-term ambition, as key communities and stakeholders rally around his leadership ahead of the local government elections.
