Prominent figures within the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the weekend converged at the Epe residence of Alhaji Shakirudeen Akanni Seriki, fondly known as Bamu, for a special celebration of his enduring legacy in politics and community leadership.
EpeInsights reports that the gathering, hosted by the Progressive Frontiers and championed by Hon. Shakiru Adebanjo (popularly known as Johnbull), was more than just a birthday event.
It was a recognition of Bamu’s decades of influence as an APC Apex Leader in Epe Division and respected member of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC).
Among the high-profile attendees were Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, Hon. Abiodun Tobun, Hon. Monsuru Ismail Akinloye, and Hon. Wale Raji-Anomo, each of whom took turns to reflect on Bamu’s impact.
Rt. Hon. Ikuforiji described the honouree as “a man of rare political wisdom and discipline,” adding that Bamu’s leadership continues to shape the trajectory of the APC in Epe.
Hon. Tobun praised him as a mentor and stabilizing force within the party. “He’s a bridge between generations,” Tobun said.
“His strength lies in his ability to unite people, listen deeply, and mediate without bias.”
For Hon. Johnbull, the gathering symbolized more than just appreciation.
“Today is about celebrating a father, a teacher, and a pillar of our political movement. We came together as Progressive Frontiers to honour a man who has given so much to our growth.”
In a brief but heartfelt speech, Alhaji Bamu expressed deep gratitude to the leaders and supporters present. “My greatest joy is seeing our unity remain strong. I remain committed to truth, peace, and the collective good of our people,” he said.
The event concluded with songs of praise, special prayers and a renewed sense of political solidarity among attendees, marking yet another milestone in the political journey of a man many consider the backbone of APC politics in Epe Division.
