His Royal Majesty, Olukayode Olufolarin Ogunsanwo (Telade IV), hosted the management of Lagos State University at his palace in Ilara-Epe, Lagos, following his appointment as the institution’s sixth Chancellor.

Epe Insights reports that the LASU delegation, led by Vice-Chancellor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, paid a courtesy visit to congratulate the monarch on his new role and reaffirm the university’s commitment to excellence.

Oba Ogunsanwo pledged to prioritise youth development, artificial intelligence, and global partnerships as part of his vision for LASU. He described the university as a “beautiful citadel of learning” known for its high academic standards and competitiveness.

The monarch, who is also a doctoral student in Business Administration at LASU, disclosed that he is in his third year and expects to graduate next year. He expressed confidence that his academic training would translate into impactful service to the university.

He praised past and present chancellors and vice-chancellors for sustaining LASU’s growth. The royal father commended his predecessor, Professor Gbolahan Elias, and lauded the leadership of Professor Olatunji-Bello for elevating the institution.

Oba Ogunsanwo emphasised the need to equip students with relevant skills for national development. He stressed that LASU must strengthen its ICT base and expand into emerging fields like artificial intelligence.

The Alara also promised to serve as a bridge between the university, government, and traditional institutions, pledging dedicated service to advance LASU’s global standing.
