The Lagos State Government is set to host the Inaugural Africa Colloquium Against Human Trafficking, a landmark event aimed at strengthening continental collaboration against human trafficking, ritual abuse and sacrifice.
EpeInsights reports that the two-day conference themed “A United Front Against Ritual Abuse and Sacrifice,” will bring together delegates from Pepperdine University, Malibu, California, alongside policymakers, legal advocates and experts from across Africa, to deepen dialogue and develop sustainable strategies for protecting victims and prosecuting offenders.
According to a statement signed by the Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Lawal Pedro, SAN, the colloquium represents a major step toward building stronger partnerships and fostering collective action to eliminate the scourge of human trafficking and ritual abuse across the continent.
The event is scheduled to hold from Thursday, October 23 to Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, GRA Ikeja.
“The Y2025 Africa Colloquium marks a pivotal moment in our collective commitment to combat human trafficking and ritual abuse,” the statement read.
“It reflects Lagos State’s leadership in driving conversations that inspire action, protect victims, and ensure justice for survivors.”
The conference underscores Lagos State’s commitment to human rights advocacy, justice reform, and regional cooperation, reinforcing its role as a catalyst for policy innovation and social protection in Africa.
