The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, has lauded the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, for her visionary leadership in championing the welfare of women and children through the launch of the “RHI Flow with Confidence” initiative.
EpeInsights reports that Hon. Animashaun joined dignitaries, government officials and stakeholders across Lagos State on Thursday at the official unveiling of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Disposable Sanitary Pads for schoolgirls.
The program, which was hosted by the Wife of the Lagos State Governor and RHI State Coordinator, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, marks a significant milestone in the campaign for menstrual health and dignity for young girls across the federation.
In her remarks, the Epe Council Boss described Senator Tinubu as “a true mother of the nation whose compassion and foresight continue to birth life-changing initiatives for women, children, and the less privileged.” She noted that the project transcends the provision of sanitary pads, adding that it represents “a message of dignity, hope, and empowerment for the girl-child.”
Hon. Animashaun further reiterated her administration’s commitment to supporting programs that prioritize women and children’s empowerment, in alignment with the Renewed Hope vision of the current administration. She also commended Dr. Sanwo-Olu for her unwavering dedication in driving the initiative in Lagos State.
The “Flow with Confidence” project, a flagship of the Renewed Hope Initiative, aims to tackle period poverty, promote menstrual health education, and ensure that young girls, particularly in schools, can manage their menstrual cycles with dignity and confidence.
The event drew wide commendations from stakeholders who described the initiative as timely and transformative, particularly in addressing one of the most pressing yet often overlooked challenges faced by young girls in Nigeria.
