The Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), has extended warm greetings to traditional worshippers and cultural custodians in Lekki and across Yorubaland on the occasion of Isese Day.
EpeInsights reports that in his goodwill message, Kasali described the celebration as a moment of pride and reflection for the Yoruba people, emphasizing the importance of cultural preservation and unity.
“Today, I join our traditional worshippers and cultural custodians in Lekki LCDA and across Yorubaland to celebrate and honour our rich heritage. May this day renew our collective bond of unity, and may the spirit of our heritage continue to guide us towards progress,” he said.
The council boss also wished residents and all Yoruba indigenes a peaceful and joyous Isese Day, highlighting that the occasion is not just a festival but also a reaffirmation of identity and tradition.
“I wish you all a peaceful and joyous celebration,” he added.
Isese Day, marked annually on August 20, is dedicated to celebrating the Yoruba religion, culture, and tradition.
It has been recognized as a public holiday in some southwestern states, including Osun and Lagos, providing a platform for traditionalists to showcase and promote Yoruba heritage.
Kasali’s message adds to the chorus of goodwill from leaders across the state who have urged continued respect for cultural values while fostering unity among diverse religious and ethnic groups.
