Former Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) and Executive Director of LAGRIDE, Otunba Adeniyi Saliu, recently received the 2025 PDP Chairmanship Candidate for Eredo LCDA, Hon. Akeem Adenuga, alongside former Ward H1 PDP Chairman, Mr. Azeez Sulaiman, as they prepared to officially defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
EpeInsights reports that the defectors, bringing with them hundreds of supporters from across the Local Council, cited Otunba Saliu’s leadership style and political influence as key factors in their decision to join the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, which took place ahead of the July 12th Local Government elections, also saw the presence of notable party stalwarts including Chief Moruf Tunwashe, Coordinator of SALIU VANGUARD, and Chief Olatunji (Baba Youth) among others.
This move further strengthens APC’s foothold in Eredo LCDA as the party gears up for a crucial election season. Political watchers say the defections could significantly impact the political landscape in the area.
