In an era where many local government leaders are scrutinized for performance, Hon. Monsuru Akinloye Ismail, Executive Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), is standing out not for promises, but for tangible and impactful action.
EpeInsights reports that the Federation of Epe Division Students’ Association (FEDSA), the highest student body representing youths across Epe Division, has publicly commended Akinloye for what they describe as “trailblazing and compassionate leadership” in education and youth empowerment.
According to a statement released by the student body on Thursday, Hon. Akinloye has not only prioritized infrastructural development but has also made access to quality education and support for the youth a central theme of his administration.
Over the past year, Akinloye’s administration has initiated and executed several high-impact projects across Eredo.
One of the most notable was the disbursement of ₦50,000 bursary awards to 100 indigent students, providing direct financial relief to families struggling to support their children’s education.
The council also distributed over 500 free GCE and JAMB forms to underprivileged students, reducing the barrier to tertiary education for many.
But the chairman’s efforts go beyond financial aid. Schools in communities like Odomola, Ajegbende (Odo-Egiri), and Odogbawojo have benefitted from newly constructed blocks of classrooms, complete with staff offices and sanitary facilities.
These developments not only improve learning environments but also restore dignity to public education in the area.
Speaking on behalf of the student body, FEDSA National President Comrade Ibrahim Adefemi stated, “Hon. Monsuru Akinloye is not just investing in infrastructure; he is investing in the future of Eredo. His dedication to students’ welfare and holistic development is inspiring.”
FEDSA Secretary-General, Miss Aminat Shobowale, echoed this sentiment. She emphasized that these are not hollow policies but real, on-the-ground interventions that continue to improve lives.
“From school renovations to scholarship programs and empowerment initiatives, Hon. Akinloye has shown us what it means to lead with vision and purpose,” she said.
The youth empowerment programs under his administration have also gained praise. These initiatives focus on equipping young people with leadership skills, vocational training, and entrepreneurship support — creating a path toward long-term self-reliance and community development.
In response to FEDSA’s commendation, Hon. Akinloye expressed humility and gratitude. He reiterated that the work is far from over and described the projects as part of a shared responsibility to secure the future of Eredo’s youth.
“This is not about personal praise,” he said. “It’s about ensuring that every child, regardless of background, gets the tools they need to succeed. No child should be left behind in Eredo LCDA.”
FEDSA has called on other local government leaders in Lagos and beyond to take a cue from Akinloye’s example a leadership style rooted in compassion, action, and a clear vision for the future.
In a region brimming with untapped potential, the efforts of Hon. Monsuru Akinloye may very well be laying the foundation for a generation of empowered, educated, and capable youths — the very future of Eredo.
