A significant spiritual milestone was recorded in Epe as Ibrahim Khaleel Ajao Sanusi was officially turbaned as the Chief Imam of the First Marina Community Central Mosque. The ceremony drew widespread participation from the Muslim community.
Epe Insights reports that the colourful event, attracted Islamic scholars, clerics, families, and well-wishers from across and beyond Epe Division. The gathering reflected the importance of the occasion within the religious community.
The turbanning was presided over by Sheikh AbdulRahman Abiola Aliru Sadallah, who also serves as President-General of the League of Imams and Alfas in Epe Division. Other distinguished individuals were equally honoured with Islamic titles.

In his remarks, Sheikh Sadallah described the new Chief Imam as a devoted Muslim who has contributed immensely to the growth of Islam in Epe. He praised his humility, dedication, and years of service to the faith.
He noted that the appointment reflects the values of integrity, loyalty, and sacrifice, adding that the new Chief Imam has demonstrated exemplary leadership within the Islamic community.

Delivering a lecture at the event, Sheikh Sobuur Balogun urged the newly turbaned leaders to uphold strong moral character. He emphasized that Islamic titles come with responsibilities beyond ceremonial recognition.
He also encouraged strict adherence to religious obligations, particularly the observance of the five daily prayers, noting that faith must be reflected in daily conduct.
In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Sanusi expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the honour. He appreciated the support of religious leaders, family members, and the wider community.

He called on Muslim faithful to remain steadfast in their faith and serve as good ambassadors of Islam in their daily lives.
The event concluded with prayers and goodwill messages from attendees, reinforcing unity and spiritual growth within the community.
