The Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area has announced the resumption of the Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise in line with the directive of the Lagos State Government.

Epe Insights reports that the exercise will now hold on the last Saturday of every month between 6:30am and 8:30am, as part of renewed efforts to promote environmental cleanliness and public health.

The initiative, led by Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, is aimed at strengthening community participation in maintaining a clean and sustainable environment across the council area.

Residents have been urged to actively take part by cleaning their surroundings, clearing drainage channels, and properly disposing of waste during the designated hours.

Council officials emphasized that the sanitation exercise is a collective responsibility that requires the cooperation of all residents, traders, and community stakeholders.

The leadership also highlighted the importance of environmental discipline, noting that regular sanitation activities help prevent flooding, reduce health risks, and improve overall living conditions.

To ensure compliance, monitoring teams are expected to be deployed across various communities, while awareness campaigns will be intensified to educate residents on best practices.

The council reiterated its commitment to supporting the state’s vision of a cleaner Lagos, stressing that sustained participation is key to achieving long-term environmental sustainability.

Residents are encouraged to see the exercise not just as a routine activity but as a vital contribution to community development and public wellbeing.
