President Bola Tinubu will inaugurate Section 1 of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway on Saturday, May 31, as part of a working visit to Lagos State.

EpeInsights reports that the project is one of the administration’s flagship infrastructure initiatives aimed at improving connectivity and economic development along Nigeria’s coastal region.

During the visit, the President will also commission other major infrastructure projects, including the Lekki Deep Sea Port Tax Credit Concrete Road, the flag-off of Section 2 of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, and the 7th Axial Road.

The Presidency also announced that Tinubu will perform virtual inaugurations of several federal road projects across northern Nigeria.

These include the Kano-Kanwar-Danja-Hadejiya Section 2 Road, Yakasai-Zalli Road, Kano Northern Bypass, Zaria-Hunkuyi-Dabai Section 1, Dabai-Kafur-Malumfashi, and the Malumfashi-Dayi-Yashe-Gidan Mutum Daya Section 3.

The President’s visit to Lagos also coincides with the continuation of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) 50th anniversary celebrations.

Activities marking the jubilee, which began in Accra in April, will continue in Lagos with a commemorative reenactment of the 1975 declaration at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs on Victoria Island.

President Tinubu is scheduled to deliver a keynote address during the commemoration at Eko Hotels and Suites.

Former Head of State General Yakubu Gowon (retd.), the only surviving signatory to the original ECOWAS declaration, is expected to deliver a special address.

Also lined up are remarks from the President of the ECOWAS Commission, Dr. Omar Touray, and a retrospective analysis of the regional bloc’s 50-year journey by former Minister of External Affairs, Professor Bolaji Akinyemi, alongside expert panel discussions.

President Tinubu will observe Eid-el-Kabir prayers at the State House, Dodan Barracks, before departing Lagos for Abuja.Tinubu to Inaugurate Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway Section 1 During Lagos Visit
