Senator Mukhail Tokunbo Abiru, representing Lagos East Senatorial District, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, describing it as a crucial pillar in the administration’s development agenda.
EpeInsights reports that Senator Abiru while speaking during his visit to the newly inaugurated All Progressives Congress (APC) National Youth Secretariat in Abuja, lauded the initiative as a progressive step toward fostering youth inclusion and innovation within the political and socio-economic landscape.
“The commissioning of this facility is a bold signal that our leadership understands the aspirations of today’s youth,” Senator Abiru said.
“This is a dynamic space designed to inspire creativity, collaboration, and technological innovation among young Nigerians.”
The state-of-the-art Secretariat boasts amenities including multimedia and podcast studios, a youth-friendly lounge, games and recreational zones, a conference hall and workspaces all geared toward engaging young members of the party and equipping them with relevant tools for civic participation and professional growth.
Abiru also commended APC National Youth Leader, Dr. Dayo Israel, for his role in championing youth inclusion within the party. He participated in a panel session moderated by Dr. Israel, where he reiterated the importance of innovation and digital literacy in today’s economy.
Highlighting his own youth-focused initiatives, Senator Abiru drew attention to the SAIL Innovation Lab in Ikorodu a technology and entrepreneurship hub founded in partnership with his office.
The centre has trained over 1,900 youths in critical digital fields such as data science, artificial intelligence, and software engineering. Additionally, more than 6,000 educators have benefited from a Teachers’ Fellowship supported by the MTN Foundation.
“These initiatives are practical examples of how we can translate the Renewed Hope Agenda into meaningful outcomes,” he said.
“We must continue to invest in the next generation, ensuring they have both the tools and the platforms to lead in a rapidly changing world.”
Dr. Dayo Israel, in his remarks, thanked Senator Abiru for his consistent support and for setting a standard of leadership that is both innovative and responsive to youth needs.
The visit underscores the growing synergy between government leaders and young stakeholders in building a resilient, tech-driven future for Nigeria.
