Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has joined other Nigerians in mourning the passing of renowned businessman, philanthropist and elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, who died at the age of 94.

EpeInsights reports that the Governor, while describing Dantata’s death as a huge loss to Nigeria and his life was a remarkable example of patriotism, generosity and business excellence.

He noted that the late elder left an enduring legacy through decades of impactful service to his community and the nation at large.

“Alhaji Aminu Dantata was a patriot, an accomplished businessman, and a generous philanthropist who touched countless lives directly and indirectly during his lifetime,” Sanwo-Olu said in a statement issued Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile.

The Governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the Dantata family, particularly to Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, over the loss of his uncle.

He also sympathised with Kano State Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the people of Kano State, describing the deceased as one of their most illustrious sons.

“On behalf of the government and people of Lagos State, I mourn the passing of Alhaji Aminu Dantata, a scion of the Dantata family,” Sanwo-Olu stated.

“He was one of Nigeria’s most successful businessmen and philanthropists, who used his God-given wealth and influence to make lasting impact across generations.”
