With the Lagos State Local Government Elections just around the corner, political momentum is building up in Epe and it’s starting from the palace.
EpeInsights reports that the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun, alongside other aspirants under the All Progressives Congress (APC), received royal blessings from the revered traditional rulers of Epe at the palace of the Oloja of Epe Land, HRM Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun.
The visit marked a symbolic and strategic beginning to the local campaign season as community leaders, party faithful, market leaders, educators, and political heavyweights gathered to rally behind APC candidates ahead of the July 12 LG elections across the 20 LGs and 37 LCDAs in Lagos.
Among the prominent voices at the gathering was Alhaji Akanni Seriki Bamu, a GAC member and APC divisional leader, who praised Hon. Animashaun’s performance as council chair.
“You have been a good ambassador of Epe and I am proud of you. Try to keep it up,” he said, while also urging all APC candidates to uphold the trust placed in them.
Campaign Committee Chairman, Otunba Bode Alausa, echoed similar sentiments, declaring the APC “well prepared” to secure all seats in the coming elections.
He commended Princess Surah’s leadership, describing it as one of “uncommon integrity.”
The royal host, Oba Kamorudeen Animashaun, who led prayers for the chairman and the councillorship candidates, emphasized unity and teamwork for the progress of Epe.
“We are proud of our daughter and we are giving her our full royal blessings,” he said, encouraging the APC team to remain focused and collaborative.
Adding political gravitas to the occasion was Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, who endorsed Hon. Animashaun’s bid for a second term.
“She has performed tremendously well. If the people want more dividends of democracy, they must come out massively to vote APC.”
Hon. Abiodun Tobun also underscored the importance of collective effort in clinching victory.
“We can’t afford to lose any seat in Epe. The team is not just ready, we are determined to continue the good work.”
Following the royal visit, APC candidates and party leaders moved to the local party secretariat for the official presentation of the party logo and symbolic broom, further signaling their readiness to engage voters and intensify campaign efforts.
With royal blessings secured and party engines revving, the APC in Epe is setting the stage for what promises to be a vibrant and competitive election season.
For Hon. Surah Animashaun and her team, the palace visit was more than tradition, it was a declaration of confidence, continuity, and a renewed commitment to community development.
