The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), has announced an exciting opportunity for residents of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) to participate in a comprehensive, free skill acquisition training program.
EpeInsights learnt that the initiative aims to empower youth and adults by equipping them with practical vocational skills that enhance their employability and entrepreneurial potential.
The training will be held at the Skill Acquisition Center located in Orimedu Town, just off Eleko Beach and will run for nine months.
The courses offered cover a wide range of trades and professional skills including computer training, photography, vulcanizing and wheel balancing, barbing, hat and bead work, texture design and crafts, textile weaving, refrigeration and air conditioning, catering and hotel management, tile laying and pave making, screen printing, welding fabrication, hairdressing and cosmetology, aluminum work, shoe making, pottery and furniture and woodwork.
Interested applicants from Lekki LCDA are urged to visit the WAPA office to register, as Wednesday, August 6, 2025, is the last day for registration.
To encourage participation and remove financial barriers, the registration fees will be fully covered by Mrs. Ramat Bola Kasali, the wife of the Executive Chairman of Lekki LCDA.
