In a lively atmosphere filled with energy and collaboration, participants of the Lagos State Public Service Accelerator Programme (PSAP) came together on Saturday for a dynamic team-bonding session at the Johnson Jakande Tinubu (JJT) Park, Alausa.
EpeInsights learnt that the event, which featured interactive games, group problem-solving tasks, and social exercises, served as a strategic component of the PSAP curriculum, designed to foster trust, enhance communication, and strengthen leadership capacity across the cohort.
Delivering remarks at the gathering, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Establishments and Training, Ms. Toyin Atanda, emphasized that the session was more than just a recreational retreat.
“This is a strategic component of the Public Service Accelerator Programme. We are nurturing future-ready civil servants who understand the power of collaboration and emotional intelligence in the public sector,” she noted.
Participants, drawn from various ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs), shared glowing feedback about the experience, highlighting its impact on their interpersonal skills and team dynamics.
“This experience has broadened my perspective and helped me understand the diverse strengths within the service. It’s refreshing and empowering,” said one of the participants.
Beyond relaxation, the outing aligns with the overarching vision of the PSAP, to equip mid-level officers with the agility, mindset, and leadership competencies needed to drive innovation, accountability, and reform across the Lagos State Civil Service.
As the day wound down, the participants departed not only re-energised but also more connected—ready to return to their roles with a renewed sense of purpose and unity.
