President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Eko Club International (ECI) on the celebration of its 25th anniversary, describing the organisation as a beacon of unity, culture and development for Lagos indigenes across the globe.
EpeInsights reports that in a statement issued on Monday, September 1, 2025, by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President lauded ECI’s leaders and members for sustaining the vision that inspired its founding during his years in exile.
He commended the group for its efforts in promoting Lagos’s cultural heritage while also supporting social development through medical outreach programmes, scholarships for underprivileged students, skill acquisition initiatives, and entrepreneurship support.
With 25 active chapters spread across the USA, UK, Canada, and Europe, Tinubu noted that ECI’s history and activities have given it a unique place in shaping generational impact.
The President urged members of the club to reflect on their achievements and prepare for even greater contributions in the years ahead.
“Your steadfast support and dedication have not only preserved our cultural values but also fostered good governance and harmony within and outside Lagos,” Tinubu said.
He wished the organisation continued growth and greater impact in the future.
