The Olu-Epe-elect, High Chief Kadri Odedeogboro, has urged indigenes and residents of Epe Kingdom to uphold the true spirit of Eid-el-Kabir by fostering unity, promoting peaceful coexistence and embracing the values of sacrifice and service to the community.
EpeInsights reports that the High Chief Odedeogboro described the festival as a period of reflection, love and collective commitment qualities he said are essential for the progress of the kingdom.
“Eid-el-Kabir is not just a time for celebration; it is a moment to remember the essence of selflessness and compassion,” he said.
“It reminds us of the importance of putting unity above division and service above self-interest.”
In an interview during the Sallah celebrations, the Olu-Epe-elect highlighted the role of shared values in nation-building and emphasized that sustainable development in Epe can only be achieved when all stakeholders, especially the youth, are aligned in vision and action.
“As we look toward a brighter future for Epe, every son and daughter of this land must be invested in the peace, growth, and prosperity of our kingdom,” he said.
“Let us keep the spirit of togetherness alive not just during Sallah, but every day of our lives.”
Reaffirming his commitment to inclusive and selfless leadership, High Chief Odedeogboro noted that his vision for the throne is one built on humility, accountability and dedication to the common good.
“True leadership is about service, it is about listening to the people, responding to their needs, and working tirelessly for their upliftment,” he stated. “Leadership should not be about personal gain, but about collective progress.”
He expressed deep appreciation to the people of Epe for their prayers, support, and continued belief in the traditional institution.
He also directed a special message to the younger generation, encouraging them to uphold discipline, respect cultural values, and commit to unity of purpose.
“Our youths are the pillars of tomorrow. I urge them to embrace integrity, hard work, and cultural pride. Together, we can build a stronger, more united Epe Kingdom,” he concluded.
The Olu-Epe-elect’s message comes at a time when cultural leaders and institutions across Lagos State are increasingly being recognized for their roles in community development and intergenerational harmony.
