The Odo-Obara Old Students Association has donated new infrastructure and learning materials to their alma mater, Odo-Obara Junior and Senior High School in Epe, Lagos State.

EpeInsights learnt that at a ceremony held on Monday, September 22, 2025, the alumni unveiled a new school gate fitted with two solar-powered streetlights, and presented writing materials and white marker boards to support teaching and learning.

The initiative was coordinated by the Association’s Board of Trustees Chairman, Barrister Tajudeen Elias, who dedicated the programme to the memory of a former president, the late Yisa Arimi.

The contributions came from different graduating sets: the 2000 set funded the gate and solar lights, the 2001 set donated writing materials to all JSS 2 and JSS 3 students, while the 2007 set provided seven marker boards for classrooms.

Principals of both schools expressed gratitude. Alhaja Awulat Owolabi of the Junior School praised the consistent support of the alumni, while Mr. Leo of the Senior School appealed for more assistance, saying, “As Oliver Twist, we request for more intervention.”

National President of the Association, Ustadh Ismail Abdrasak Gbenjo, commended contributors including Alhaji AbdulRahmon Abass, Imam Agbaraojo Shamsideen, Mrs. Oluwatosin Raheem, and Mr. Egwenu Samuel for their commitment and sacrifice.

The event highlighted the impact of old students’ support in enhancing facilities and promoting a better learning environment for the younger generation in Epe.
