As Nigeria celebrates its 65th Independence Anniversary, the lawmaker representing Epe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Chairman, House Committee on Livestock Development, Rep. Wale Raji, has urged Nigerians to embrace patriotism, unity and renewed hope for the future of the nation.
EpeInsights reports that in a goodwill message to the people of Epe Federal Constituency, Lagos State, and Nigerians at large, Rep. Raji reflected on the sacrifices of the country’s founding fathers, noting that independence was born out of “deep love for country, unity of purpose and a bold dream of a nation where every citizen could thrive in peace, justice and prosperity.”
He acknowledged that while Nigeria has faced many challenges since independence, the resilience of its people has remained a defining strength. According to him, patriotism must rise above pessimism if the nation is to realize its full potential.
“No nation is built in a day, and no progress comes without collective sacrifice,” he said. “Now more than ever, Nigerians must stand together, support ongoing reforms, and contribute meaningfully to national progress.”
Rep. Raji commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, describing it as a bold and determined mission to restore Nigeria’s glory and chart a brighter future. He noted that though the changes may not be instant, visible signs of transformation are already emerging across key sectors.
At the constituency level, the federal lawmaker reassured the people of Epe of his continued commitment to delivering impactful representation. He highlighted ongoing projects and initiatives in road infrastructure, education, healthcare, youth and women empowerment, and support for farmers and traders.
“These efforts are not just projects; they are investments in people and the future of Epe,” he stated, stressing that legislative service must be centered on the needs of the people.
Rep. Raji further called on Nigerians to shun hate, division, and negativity, urging them instead to embrace unity, peace, and collective progress.
“As we celebrate today, let us renew our commitment to unity, peace, and progress. The greatness of Epe, Lagos, and Nigeria is in our hands. Together, we can build the El Dorado we dream of,” he said.
He concluded with a patriotic salute: “Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria, long live Lagos State, and long live Epe Federal Constituency.”
