The Lagos State Primary Health Care Board (LSPHCB), in collaboration with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) and with support from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, held its Fourth Bi-Monthly Performance Review Meeting in Ikeja, Lagos.

EpeInsights reports that the event, hosted at the Shoregate Hotel in Ikeja GRA, brought together stakeholders, healthcare professionals and development partners to evaluate progress, share insights and celebrate excellence across the state’s Primary Health Care Centres (PHCs).

A major highlight of the gathering was the recognition of exceptional Officers-in-Charge (OICs) from various PHCs across Lagos.

These dedicated health workers were honoured for their outstanding performance and unwavering dedication to quality service delivery at the grassroots level.

The awards, according to organisers, aim to celebrate the critical role of frontline healthcare professionals in driving improved outcomes in communities and reinforcing public confidence in the state’s healthcare system.

Dr. Temitope Balogun, Director of Planning, Statistics, and Research at LSPHCB, addressed participants at the event, urging health workers to continue leveraging training and capacity-building opportunities provided by the Board and its partners.

She applauded the tireless efforts of PHC staff across Lagos and emphasized the importance of collaborative action in achieving health equity.

“We must continue to work together government, partners, and communities to build a stronger, more responsive primary healthcare system for all Lagosians,” Dr. Balogun said.

Beyond the awards, the review meeting served as a platform for rich engagement among stakeholders. Attendees reflected on project implementation, shared lessons learned, exchanged best practices, and developed key recommendations to enhance ongoing healthcare initiatives.

The regular bi-monthly review meetings are part of a broader strategy to promote accountability, transparency, and sustained improvement across Lagos State’s primary healthcare system.

The event once again highlighted the strong partnership between LSPHCB, CHAI and Gavi, and their shared vision of accessible, high-quality healthcare for all residents of Lagos State.

As the state continues to strengthen its PHC system, initiatives like this not only spotlight progress but also inspire further commitment from health workers, policymakers, and partners alike.LSPHCB Celebrates Excellence in Primary Healthcare at Fourth Bi-Monthly Review Meeting LSPHCB Celebrates Excellence in Primary Healthcare at Fourth Bi-Monthly Review Meeting
