The League of Epe Division Youths and Students Association (LEYOSA), a leading voluntary youth organisation under the National Youth Council of Nigeria (Epe Local Branch), was ably represented earlier today at the International Youth Day Summit held at Blue Roof, LTV8 Premises, Agidingbi CBD, Alausa, Ikeja.

EpeInsights gathered that the summit, themed “Local Youth Actions for SDGs and Beyond,” convened young leaders, policymakers and stakeholders to deliberate on the role of youths in driving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Dignitaries present included Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter, Eng. Adigun Ibrahim; Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende; and Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.

A highlight of the event was the keynote address, described by participants as electrifying and inspiring, which resonated strongly with the audience by emphasizing the critical role of young people in shaping the future.

Speaking on the summit, LEYOSA leaders reaffirmed their belief in the timeless words of Nelson Mandela: “The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow.”

In a joint statement signed by Amb. Kadri Abiola Adedolapo Odedeogboro Morgan, Director General of LEYOSA, and Amb. Agbomabiwon Basirat, the association’s Public Relations Officer, the group commended the Lagos State Government and the NYCN for providing a platform that amplifies youth voices in governance, innovation and development.

The summit ended with renewed calls for collaboration between government institutions, civil society, and youth-led organizations to ensure that young people are empowered to actively contribute to sustainable growth across the state and beyond.LEYOSA Participates in International Youth Day Summit in Lagos
