Lekki LCDA Men’s Health Outreach Ends on a Successful Note

The two-day Free Health Outreach for Men organized by the Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has ended on a successful note, drawing commendations from residents for its focus on men’s health and preventive care.

EpeInsights reports that the programme, initiated by the Executive Chairman of Lekki LCDA, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), was themed “Saving Our Men.”

It was designed to create awareness on men’s health issues and encourage regular medical checkups among men, who often overlook their health due to busy schedules or cultural attitudes.

The outreach offered free prostate cancer screening, dental care services, medical consultations and distribution of essential drugs to participants across the community.

The exercise recorded an impressive turnout of men from various parts of the LCDA who took advantage of the opportunity to access quality healthcare at no cost.

Speaking during the closing session, Engr. Kasali expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the initiative, noting that the programme aligns with his administration’s vision to promote accessible and preventive healthcare for all residents of Lekki LCDA.

“Men’s health is a critical issue that is often ignored until it becomes too late. This outreach is part of our effort to promote early detection and preventive healthcare. We want our men to stay healthy, strong, and active for their families and communities,” he said.

Health professionals who participated in the programme commended the council’s proactive step in addressing the growing cases of prostate and dental-related conditions among men.

They emphasized that such community-driven initiatives play a vital role in reducing preventable diseases and mortality.

Beneficiaries also expressed appreciation to the council chairman and his team for organizing the outreach.

Many participants described it as a life-changing intervention that gave them the opportunity to receive vital health checks they might have otherwise neglected.

The outreach is one of several health-focused initiatives embarked upon by the Kasali-led administration to improve the well-being of residents through sustainable, people-centered programs in Lekki LCDA.
