The commitment of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) to youth empowerment and digital capacity building was once again demonstrated today as dozens of young people successfully completed the Intermediate Level Microsoft Excel Training at the council’s ICT Centre.
EpeInsights gathered that the training, which comes as the second phase of an ongoing digital skills programme, equipped participants with practical knowledge of data management, analysis, and problem-solving using Microsoft Excel, one of the most sought-after skills in today’s technology-driven workplace.
At the close of the programme, the Executive Chairman of Lekki LCDA, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), personally presented certificates of completion to the beneficiaries. He commended their dedication and urged them to put their newly acquired knowledge into productive ventures that would not only improve their personal lives but also contribute positively to the community.
“We live in an age where digital competence is a requirement, not an option. What you have learned here is not just about Excel—it is about building confidence to compete globally. I encourage you to use this skill to innovate, create opportunities, and excel in whatever field you find yourselves,” Kasali said.
The programme forms part of Lekki LCDA’s continuous capacity development initiative, designed to empower both staff and youths with digital skills that will strengthen employability, entrepreneurship, and global competitiveness.
Participants expressed their gratitude to the council leadership, describing the training as a life-changing opportunity that has broadened their career horizons.
With more phases of training planned, Lekki LCDA continues to position itself as a hub for digital empowerment, ensuring that its young population is not left behind in Nigeria’s rapidly evolving knowledge economy.
