The Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has begun the rehabilitation of the Apakin Primary Health Centre (PHC) as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery within the council area.
EpeInsights reports that the move follows an inspection visit earlier in the week by the Executive Chairman, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), during which he assessed the state of the facility and pledged immediate intervention to restore it to optimal condition.
During the visit, Kasali interacted with health personnel and community members, assuring them of his administration’s commitment to ensuring that every ward in Lekki has access to quality and functional healthcare facilities.
He emphasized that the rehabilitation of the Apakin PHC is not just about renovating a structure but about improving service delivery, staff welfare and the overall healthcare experience for residents.
“Our goal is to make primary healthcare truly accessible, efficient, and responsive to the needs of our people. Health is wealth, and we will continue to invest in it,” the Chairman said.
The rehabilitation project is expected to include structural repairs, provision of modern equipment, improved sanitation, and enhanced patient care areas to better serve the growing population of the community.
The Council’s Media Office noted that the initiative forms part of a broader effort by the Kasali-led administration to revitalize primary health centres across Lekki LCDA in line with the Lagos State Government’s vision for universal health coverage.
