In a decisive move to improve the safety and learning environment of pupils, the Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali has commenced the construction of a perimeter fence at the Local Government Primary School in Akodo Ise.
EpeInsights learnt that the project, which is part of the council’s ongoing efforts to upgrade public school infrastructure within the LCDA, is being executed by the contractor Relish by Thyma and is scheduled for completion within three months.
Speaking on the development, Chairman Kasali emphasised the importance of safe school environments in fostering effective learning.
“This fence will serve as a much-needed protective barrier for our children and staff. We are committed to not just building classrooms, but also securing them,” he stated.
The Works and Housing Department of Lekki LCDA is supervising the construction to ensure adherence to quality standards and timely delivery.
Community leaders, educators, and parents have lauded the initiative, describing it as a welcome intervention that addresses the growing need for safety and order within public school premises, especially in rural communities.
This marks yet another infrastructure project under Chairman Kasali’s administration, reinforcing his commitment to educational development and the welfare of pupils in the Lekki LCDA.
