The Lagos State Ministry of Housing has held a stakeholders’ meeting and public enlightenment programme with residents of government-owned housing estates in the Ikorodu Division.
EpeInsights learnt that the engagement, which took place earlier today, aimed to promote sustainable living practices and improve the overall well-being of residents.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engr. Abdulhafis Toriola, was represented at the event by the Director of the Estate Department, ESV. (Mrs.) Olukemi Fosudo.
She explained that the initiative was designed to encourage community involvement in estate management while also raising awareness about environmental issues and sustainable practices.
During the session, residents were sensitised on the importance of proper waste management, water conservation, energy-efficient habits and sanitation.
The programme also emphasized the need for greater collaboration between the Ministry and estate dwellers to foster a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment.
Fosudo noted that the Ministry remains committed to initiatives that not only enhance the quality of life in housing estates but also promote sustainable urban development across the state.
She encouraged residents to take ownership of their communities and partner with the government in maintaining a livable and environmentally conscious atmosphere.
The Ministry assured residents that similar engagements will continue across other divisions as part of efforts to strengthen public awareness and improve estate management practices statewide.
