The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has unveiled its “101 Days in Lagos” calendar, a comprehensive programme that brings together the state’s most significant cultural, entertainment and tourism activities.

EpeInsights learnt that the initiative, running from September 26, 2025, through January 2026, is designed to consolidate Lagos’ position as Africa’s cultural and tourism capital while boosting growth in the state’s creative economy.

Speaking at the launch, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Idris Aregbe, described the calendar as a strategic tool for transforming Lagos into a globally recognised hub for creativity, culture and commerce.

“Tourism is our gold; it mirrors the growth and prospects of a city. Lagos is determined to harness this potential fully. The ‘101 in Lagos’ manual, which will be widely circulated across digital and physical platforms, serves as the definitive guide to the season’s flagship activities, including the E1 Lagos Water Sports Festival, Lagos Cultural Weekend, Flytime Fest, Culturati   and One Lagos Fiesta,” Aregbe said.

He assured stakeholders that the government has created a safe and conducive environment for cultural exchange, innovation and entertainment throughout the festive period, but cautioned that strict adherence to event and tourism regulations is essential to maintaining the integrity of the season.

“The calendar is practical, tangible and action-driven. Beyond showcasing major events, it provides collaboration opportunities and clear guidance for organisers, stakeholders, and the public. Our Tourism Support Services will work hand-in-hand with industry players to ensure smooth and efficient execution. We must all play by the rules,” he added.

Calling on regulatory agencies, the private sector and the creative community to join hands in delivering a safe, vibrant, and memorable season, Aregbe reaffirmed government’s commitment to positioning Lagos as a global hub for culture and tourism.

“This administration is unwavering in its mission. Our city will continue to lead, inspire and thrive as the home of creativity, culture, and commerce in Africa,” he said.

The ‘101 Days in Lagos’ calendar features a wide range of local and international events, including Felabration, E1 Racing, Detty December, the Tacha 150 Hours Makeover Guinness World Record attempt, the Children’s Book Festival, the Foodaholics Trade Fair, Lagos Meets London Cultural Night, Naija Food Fiesta, Club in the Park and the Aso Oke Revival.
