As part of its commitment to creating a more livable and sustainable city, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has intensified its enforcement campaign, sealing off multiple facilities across the Mainland for noise pollution and other environmental violations.

EpeInsights learnt that the operation, carried out on Wednesday, targeted establishments in several neighbourhoods, including Onike, Yaba, China Town, Ojota, Pedro, Bariga, Magodo, Shomolu, and Ebute Metta.

According to LASEPA, the affected premises range from religious centres to hospitality businesses, bakeries, and residential buildings.

Among the sealed properties are Suit Las Caracas, Forest Guzu Xinlong Zhongnia Horn Co. Ltd., Success Bakery, CCC Church and CCC Training Seminary, JP Ventures Bakery, Aliya Bakery, and several multi-tenant residential apartments.

In a statement released Friday, the General Manager of LASEPA, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, reiterated the agency’s zero-tolerance policy toward noise pollution, citing its adverse effects on public health and the well-being of communities.Lagos Cracks Down on Noise Pollution, Seals Religious Centres, Hotels, Bakeries

“Our enforcement today sends a clear message: Lagos will not tolerate activities that harm its environment or its people. We’re taking bold steps to ensure a healthier, more serene city for all residents,” Ajayi said.

He called on businesses, religious institutions, and residents to respect environmental regulations, noting that compliance is essential to building a cleaner and more sustainable Lagos.

The enforcement action comes as part of a broader push by the state government to address environmental infractions and enhance quality of life in urban areas. Residents are encouraged to report violations and participate in ongoing efforts to make Lagos a model city for environmental responsibility.
