As Muslims across Lagos State and the world celebrate Eid-el-Kabir 2025, the Lagos State House of Assembly and the State Head of Service, Bode Agoro, have extended heartfelt felicitations and messages of unity, compassion and service to the Muslim community.
EpeInsights reports that the Lagos Assembly’s Spokesperson, Mr. Stephen Ogundipe, speaking on behalf of the Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, and fellow lawmakers, conveyed warm greetings to Muslim faithful.
He described Eid-el-Kabir, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice as a time that embodies love, kindness and the spirit of selflessness.
Ogundipe stated that “reminds us of the human capacity for sacrifice in the name of love and devotion, commemorating the ultimate sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim when he was willing to give up his son, Ismail, in obedience to God.”
He further urged Lagosians to embrace the festival’s core values of generosity and support for the vulnerable, highlighting that the spirit of Eid should inspire acts of charity and community service beyond the celebrations.
In a similar vein, Lagos State Head of Service, Bode Agoro, who participated in the Eid prayers held at the Dodan Barracks prayer ground in Obalende, echoed these sentiments.
Agoro emphasized that Eid-el-Kabir is a solemn yet joyous occasion that calls on Muslims to embody faith, obedience, and sacrifice in their daily lives.

He encouraged the community to use this period to foster unity, peace and compassion in their neighborhoods and beyond.
Agoro also took the opportunity to commend the efforts and dedication of Lagos State public servants.
He acknowledged their vital contributions to the development and progress of the state, urging them to rededicate themselves to serving Lagosians with renewed commitment, efficiency and proactive engagement.
“Public servants, are the backbone of our administration, and their dedication is crucial in driving Lagos toward greater heights.”
The Lagos State government joins the Federal Government’s declaration of Friday and Monday as public holidays, allowing Muslim faithful across the country ample time to celebrate with family and friends.
As Nigeria continues to navigate various social and economic challenges, the messages from Lagos State leaders underscore the importance of unity, empathy, and perseverance.
Both the Lagos Assembly and the Head of Service have reminded citizens that the values symbolized by Eid-el-Kabir transcend religious boundaries and serve as a call to collective progress and harmony.
