Ilara Kingdom in Eredo-Epe witnessed a colourful cultural celebration over the weekend as the Alara of Ilara, Oba (Dr.) Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo (Telade IV), conferred prestigious chieftaincy titles on Ambassador Oluwatoyin Lawal and his wife, Mrs. Abiodun Lawal.

EpeInsights reports that Ambassador Lawal was installed as the Bobaguwa of Ilara Kingdom, while Mrs. Lawal received the honorary title of Yeye Bobaguwa.

The installation formed part of the monarch’s ongoing efforts to recognise and honour accomplished Nigerians who have demonstrated integrity, leadership, and commitment to community service.

Speaking after the conferment, Ambassador Lawal expressed gratitude to the monarch and people of Ilara for the recognition.

“This honour is a call to service, and we are committed to working with Kabiyesi to advance the growth of Ilara Kingdom,” he said.

Mrs. Lawal, in her remarks, pledged to focus on initiatives that touch the lives of women and children, while also supporting education, healthcare, and youth empowerment.

“We will play our part in uplifting the development of this community,” she assured.

In his remarks, Oba Ogunsanwo described the installation as a reflection of the couple’s reputation as respected personalities whose values align with the throne’s vision for progress.

“We are confident that their involvement will further strengthen Ilara’s development drive,” the monarch stated.

The event, which also featured the installation of other distinguished Nigerians with honorary titles, attracted dignitaries from politics, business, academia and traditional institutions, further underscoring Ilara’s growing influence as a hub of culture and development in Lagos State.
