In a move aimed at promoting quality education and reducing the financial strain on parents, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Otunba-Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, has launched the ‘Back to School’ initiative, beginning with the distribution of free exercise books to pupils across public primary schools in the council.

EpeInsights learnt that the exercise, which took place earlier today, was conducted on behalf of the chairman by the Vice Chairman, Alhaji Wasiu Dehinsilu, who was joined by the Chief of Staff, Hon. Jayesimi Ibraheem, and the Council Leader, Hon. Hassan Mustapha Owolabi.

Beneficiary schools included Baptist Day Primary School, Agbowa; Methodist Primary School, Agbowa; St. John Primary School, Sala; and RCM Primary School, Ejinrin. Pupils received the materials with excitement, while teachers expressed heartfelt appreciation, describing the gesture as both timely and impactful in enhancing teaching and learning.

Other council officials present were the Deputy Leader, Hon. Ganiyu Selim Oluwaseun; Majority Leader, Hon. Oluwo Martins Oriyomi; Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Olumide Ajayi; and Hon. Disu Opeyemi Adebajo, among others.

Speaking during the exercise, the Vice Chairman explained that the initiative was a deliberate effort by the Anomo-led administration to encourage learning, boost pupils’ morale, support parents, and reinforce the council’s commitment to educational development in Ikosi-Ejinrin.

School heads and teachers, on behalf of the pupils, expressed deep gratitude to the chairman and his team. They commended the council for its responsive leadership and pledged to continue nurturing the children to justify the investments made in their education.

The ‘Back to School’ program adds to the growing list of educational interventions under the current administration, reflecting Chairman Anomo’s determination to consolidate the gains of education and expand opportunities for the future leaders of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
