The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area, Otunba (Akogun) Wale Raji Anomo, has announced the holding of an 8th-Day Fidau Prayer in honour of late Alhaji (Otunba) Ganiyu Adio Akintola, the pioneer Executive Chairman of the council who passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
According to a statement signed by Areh AbdulHamid O., on behalf of the Executive Chairman, the prayer session is scheduled to hold on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 12:00 PM, at the Palace Ground, Ejinrin Town, Epe.
The Fidau Prayer is being organized in remembrance of a man described as a father, leader, and mentor whose legacy of service and dedication to the development of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA continues to inspire the current administration and residents alike.
“We invite all family members, community leaders, political associates, and well-wishers to join us as we gather in prayers and thanksgiving to Almighty Allah for a life of impact, service, and legacy,” the statement read.
The council described the late Alhaji Akintola as a visionary leader whose tenure as the first Executive Chairman laid the foundation for growth and community development in the LCDA.
His contributions to governance, grassroots empowerment, and the welfare of the people of Ejinrin and its environs were highlighted as enduring testaments to his leadership.
The statement further expressed prayers for the repose of his soul, saying,
“May the soul of our dearly beloved Baba continue to rest in perfect peace. Ameen.”
The council emphasized that the Fidau prayer is not only a moment of remembrance but also an opportunity to celebrate a legacy of integrity, selfless service, and devotion to community progress.
