The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area, Hon. Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, has joined the chorus of tributes pouring in for the late Olu-Epe of Epe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba Dr. Shefiu Adewale Olatunji (Bamgbopa Eshinlokun I).
EpeInsights had earlier reported the passage of the monarch.
In a solemn message released to the public, Hon. Anomo described the late monarch’s passing as “a monumental loss to the traditional institution and a painful departure of a father figure, a wise custodian of heritage, and a symbol of unity and progress.”
Oba Olatunji, who reigned with distinction, was praised for steering the Epe Kingdom through a period marked by peace, cultural renaissance, and sustained development. According to Anomo, the monarch’s contributions went beyond ceremonial duties; he was a moral compass and a source of wise counsel for leaders across the Epe Division.
“His reign brought about peace, development, and cultural rebirth for the people of Epe,” Anomo stated. “His counsel will be sorely missed by all of us who had the privilege of benefiting from his wealth of wisdom.”
Offering condolences on behalf of the government and people of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, the chairman extended sympathies to the royal family, the Epe Division traditional council, and the entire Eko-Epe Kingdom.
He also prayed for divine comfort and strength for all those affected by the monarch’s passing.
“May Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus, and strengthen us all with the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss,” he prayed.
In a final farewell, Hon. Anomo paid tribute to the late king’s enduring legacy: “Sun re o, Kabiyesi. You lived with honour, and you shall be remembered with pride.”
As mourning deepens across the Epe Division, Oba Bamgbopa Eshinlokun I is being remembered not just as a king, but as a cultural icon whose life’s work continues to inspire unity and pride among his people.
