Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA Chairman Felicitates Olowu, Owu-Ikosi Indigenes on Owu-Ikosi Day

The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Otunba-Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, has extended heartfelt congratulations to His Royal Majesty, Oba Nelson Obayomi Ogunlari (Ogundalu I), the Olowu of Owu-Ikosi Kingdom, and all indigenes of the ancient community on the celebration of this year’s Owu-Ikosi Day.

EpeInsights reports that in a goodwill message personally signed by the chairman, Anomo described the annual event as a proud display of the kingdom’s rich cultural heritage, unity, and communal strength.

He noted that the Owu-Ikosi Day celebration has continued to serve as a unifying platform for sons and daughters of the kingdom both at home and in the diaspora to reconnect with their roots and renew their collective commitment to progress.

“On behalf of the government and good people of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, I heartily felicitate with His Royal Majesty, Oba Nelson Obayomi Ogunlari (Ogundalu I), and all sons and daughters of Owu-Ikosi Kingdom on this joyous occasion,” Anomo stated.

“This annual celebration is not only a testament to the rich cultural heritage and unity of Owu-Ikosi people but also a reflection of the community’s enduring spirit of progress and togetherness. It provides a moment to appreciate our shared values, honour our ancestors, and renew our collective commitment to development,” he added.

The council boss prayed for continued peace, prosperity, and progress in the kingdom under the leadership of Oba Ogunlari, describing the monarch as a symbol of wisdom and stability whose reign has brought renewed growth and pride to the people of Owu-Ikosi.

Anomo further expressed optimism that the traditions and cultural legacies of Owu-Ikosi would remain a beacon of inspiration for future generations, urging the people to continue working in unity for the advancement of their community.

“As we celebrate this great heritage, may the peace, prosperity, and harmony that Owu-Ikosi is known for continue to abound. May the kingdom experience greater advancement under the reign of our distinguished monarch, and may our traditions remain a source of pride for generations to come,” the statement concluded.

He ended the message with the traditional Owu-Ikosi salute: “Owu Lakoda!”
