In a decisive move to ensure residents of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA) have smooth access to the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, the Executive Chairman, Otunba-Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, has facilitated the training of 12 ward assistants, two per ward who will serve as support staff across the six wards of the council.
EpeInsights reports that the Chairman while addressing the newly trained assistants at the LCDA Secretariat Conference Room, urged them to discharge their duties with diligence and impartiality, emphasizing that the exercise must serve “every resident, regardless of party or political affiliation.”
He assured that his administration would continue to provide the necessary support to make both the online pre-registration and the biometric capturing phases seamless for the people.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier fixed August 18, 2025 for the commencement of online pre-registration, while in-person registration is scheduled to begin on August 25, 2025, running Mondays to Fridays, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at all designated centres.
Reiterating the importance of civic participation, Anomo called on residents to take advantage of the opportunity, come out en masse, and ensure they secure their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 elections.
The designated CVR centres in Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA include LG Primary School and the front of the Post Office in Ward E1; No. 30 Okepopo Street, Agbowa-Ikosi and Ikosi Beach Town Hall in Ward E2; Owu, Otta-Ikosi and Odo-Ayandelu in Ward F1; 75 Olofin Road, Orugbo-Iddo and 6 College Road, Ajebo (Iya Oyin’s House) in Ward G1; Supplier Office, Ketu and the Primary Health Centre, Ejinrin in Ward Q1; as well as RCM Primary School, Itoikin and Temu Better Life Centre in Ward R1.
With this intervention, Anomo has once again demonstrated his commitment to inclusive governance, civic responsibility and grassroots empowerment.
