Over 1,000 residents of Epe II Constituency in Lagos State are benefitting weekly from a welfare initiative spearheaded by their representative in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Ogunkelu Oluwadahunsi Sylvester, popularly known as Hon. Sketel.
EpeInsights reports that the programme, tagged “Sunday Stomach Infrastructure,” is held every week at Ora Estate, Epe, where beneficiaries receive cash and food support aimed at easing the burden of rising living costs. Each participant reportedly receives an average of ₦5,000 weekly.
Speaking during the latest edition of the outreach, Hon. Sketel said his motivation is rooted in compassion and service to humanity, describing the initiative as his personal contribution to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“God sent me to rescue Epe II from hunger. Even without any government allocation, I’ve made it a duty to ensure that my people do not go to bed hungry,” he said.
The lawmaker also encouraged residents to bring their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) during the outreach and urged those yet to register to do so, emphasizing the importance of civic participation in governance.
Several beneficiaries shared their appreciation for the gesture.
Mrs. Ariyo from Ward M1 described Hon. Sketel as “a God-sent leader who brings joy to the less privileged every week.”Similarly, Iya Eleja from Ward K1 hailed him as “a true messiah for Epe’s vulnerable population,” while Baba Ibeji from Ward L1 praised his leadership, saying,
“Anyone opposing Hon. Sketel’s third-term ambition is acting against the will of God.”
The programme has since become a staple of grassroots support in Epe II, reinforcing the lawmaker’s reputation as a compassionate leader committed to community welfare and poverty alleviation.
