The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, was officially sworn in for a second term in office on Sunday, July 27, 2025, during a state-organised inauguration ceremony held at the Sport Pavilion Ground, Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja.
EpeInsights reports that the ceremony, presided over by the Lagos State Government, signaled the formal commencement of a new four-year tenure for council chairmen across the state following the successful July 12 local government elections conducted by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC).
Princess Animashaun’s re-election is widely regarded as a resounding endorsement of her leadership, anchored on grassroots development, infrastructural renewal, and people-first policies throughout her first term.
In her remarks after taking the oath of office, the Chairman expressed deep gratitude to the people of Epe for their continued trust and support.
“I am deeply honored and humbled by the trust reposed in me once again by the good people of Epe,” she said.
“This second term presents an opportunity to build on the solid foundation we have laid and to accelerate the pace of development across all sectors of the local government. I remain committed to the principles of accountability, equity, and progress.”
Princess Animashaun also unveiled her Second Term Strategic Development Blueprint, outlining her administration’s focus areas: strengthening local institutions, increasing citizen engagement and driving sustainable development initiatives tailored to the needs of all communities in Epe.
She called on all stakeholders to work together in unity, emphasizing that the success of governance lies in shared responsibility, transparency, and collective commitment to progress.
“Governance is not a one-person task. It is a collective responsibility. With unity, transparency, and shared vision, we can achieve even greater things for Epe.”
As she begins her second term, expectations are high among residents and community leaders who anticipate continued delivery of inclusive and people-oriented policies.
Her administration remains committed to positioning Epe Local Government as a shining example of effective and responsible governance in Lagos State.
